Overhead Crane Fabrication Drawing

(Factory Crane Engineering Drawings & Design)

Overhead Crane is essential machinery used for lifting and moving heavy material within confined spaces such as industrial factories or warehouses. Generally categorized into two main types based on structure and application as follows:

1. Overhead Travelling Crane

The most popular type, installed on elevated runways above ground level. Subdivided into two main categories:

● Single Girder Crane

Consists of a single main girder with hoist suspended underneath.

  • Lifting capacity up to 12.5 Tons
  • Lightweight structure
  • Space & budget saving

● Double Girder Crane

Consists of two parallel main girders with hoist mounted on top.

  • Lifting capacity from 10 Tons and up
  • High strength and stability
  • Higher lifting height than single girder

2. Special Purpose Cranes

Gantry Crane Features supporting legs running on floor rails. Ideal for outdoor applications or buildings without steel column structures.
Jib Crane Pillar-mounted or wall-mounted with slewing arm. Ideal for localized handling within a circular radius.
Wall Travelling Crane Mounted on a single wall track. Used alongside main cranes to speed up lower-level assembly lines.
